Our friends at The Heart Bandits have been choreographing amazing proposal ideas over the years, but we have to give credit where credit is due. Recently they came to NYC to help Pete get engaged to Dili, in what can only be described as one of the most spectacular proposals of recent times!

The couple’s story is legendary, and reaffirms that love does indeed conquer space and time:

Pete is from Australia, Dili is from Italy. Pete went all the way to her hometown in Italy to take her out on their first date. For Pete, it was love at first sight – days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and after less than a year (8 months!) Pete was ready to spend the rest of his life with Dili.

He contacted Michele at The Heart Bandits and indicated that they were coming to New York City for vacation. He was looking for help with romantic proposal ideas, one of which would (hopefully) hit the mark! After a thorough interview with Pete, Michele knew right away what direction to go.

“NYC is such a romantic city. Fine dining, beautiful parks, riverside walks and some of the most breath-taking views of any city in the world. Any marriage proposal idea in the city needs to incorporate the best of New York,” Michele said.

“Many New York rooftop views are spectacular, but there are a few that absolutely blow you away. We wanted to find THAT rooftop – 360 degrees of OMG! After extensive research we found a venue midtown – across the Hudson River that was absolutely amazing,” she concluded.

On the day the couple arrived at the venue, they went up to the top floor where a hostess ushered them out to the terrace for “dinner.” It was then that Dili was surprised by a spectacular garden that was created just for her and her love of tulips! Red, pink and white tulips appeared to be literally growing out of the rooftop floor. On the left was one single table, replete with white linen, candles, a beautiful floral centerpiece and two chairs. On the right was a carefully constructed grass path that led to the balcony’s edge. The path was lined on both sides with many flowers as well as dozens of candles encased in hurricane lanterns. This was particularly dramatic because it was a perfect night, with the lights of NYC’s skyline aglow all around, and a tapestry of stars shining overhead. None of this took away from the beautifully decorated venue itself.

“Absolutely I wilI,” she said!

The couple has now began their life together and will undoubtedly see thousands of starry nights, but they will always remember the spectacular NYC one the most.
